November 17, 2009: Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for Seniors

On Tuesday, November 17th, JBFCS celebrated our annual Pride of Judea Thanksgiving Dinner for members of our senior day treatment program and their families.

 


November 12, 2009: Paradise Found: 7th Anniversary Exhibition and Reception

The Shield Institute/Pure Vision Arts proudly presents an exhibition of works by self-taught artists. Open to the public with art and gifts for purchase.

Pure Vision Arts is Manhattan's only studio and exhibition space for beginning, emerging and established artists with autism and other developmental disabilities. The Shield Institute is affiliated with the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services.

October 30, 2009: The Brian Lehrer Show features JBFCS Program

091030wnyclogo.gifThe Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC-FM 93.9 (10/30/09) addressed the topic of Sex Abuse in Brooklyn's Orthodox Jewish Community, and includes Faye Wilbur, JBFCS coordinator of family violence services to the Jewish community, and discusses the Kol Tzedek program.


 


November 3, 2009: JBFCS Welcomes New President

The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services held a welcome reception in honor of their incoming President, Tony Mann, on the night of Tuesday November 3, 2009 at the home of Joyce Cowin, JBFCS Trustee. Approximately 70 guests were in attendance.
